Make your own rotating platform - tutorial vol. 01

Included

  • PDF tutorial
  • The case in vectors for laser cutting
  • 3D models of the case for 3D prints
  • Code in C language for Arduino

This article will guide you through the process of creating a 360° automatic rotating platform. This device saves a lot of time in the process of taking pictures of various objects for example for photogrammetry or some presentations purposes. This device uses microcontroller which is connected to the camera shooter, is computer controlled so it’s possible take photos with one mouse click by defined angles in code.

Article is focused on Canon EOS cameras that use 2,5mm Jack Connector:

  1. EOS 350D, 400D, 450D, 500D, 550D, 600D, 650D, 700D, 750D, 760D, 200D,
  2. EOS 60D, 70D, 80D,
  3. EOS 1000D, 1100D, 1200D, 1300D.

You can find there also information about other types of cameras and their connectors. Tutorial also contains vectors of the chase for the laser cutting, 3D models of case for 3D printing, electrical schemes understandable for amateurs and code in C language. I have to say it’s necessary to be careful! I’m not liable for any damages incurred. It’s also necessary that you need to know at least basics of electrical engineering (have knowledge how to solder something up).
